Our photos were originally hosted at netSnapShot.com,
but that site stopped accepting new accounts in 2003
and stopped accepting new photos in late 2006 (and as of Sept. 2011, no longer displays any photos).
I moved our photos to atpic.com, which had disk crashes without backups
twice and lost all the photos on 01/31/2009 and 08/04/2011.
These sites were selected because they were (a) free, (b) had no limits on the number of photos hosted,
(c) had no limits
on the size of photos (accepting full-resolution images),
and (d) allowed the viewer to download the original image files.
We are now hosting the photos in Ad Hoc's own web space, here with the rest of the website.
This was not an
option when the site was originally created, but we have sufficent space for this at our current
hosting site.
Photo-hosting sites, especially the free ones, are known for ceasing operations with little or no warning.
