Rehearsal Announcements:
- Wednesday, June 29, 2005
- We gave Louise a card and a gift certificate for the Smithsonian Resident Associates programs.
Thanks to Tim for taking care of this and finding something so appealing!
- See you in September -- Wednesday, September 7, 2005....
- Wednesday, June 22, 2005
- Tentative fall concert date: Sunday, November 6, 2005.
Sundays were preferred by those who were at tonight's rehearsal.
October is too soon for the (expected) new members to learn the music.
No one expressed conflicts the Nov 5-6 weekend (yet).
November 13 is a 3-day weekend (Veteran's Day Friday 11/11).
Several people have conflicts the Nov 19-20 weekend.
November 27 is Thanksgiving weekend.
- Wednesday, June 15, 2005
- Please look for the Henry Purcell Jehova, quam multi sunt hostes and bring it to future rehearsals.
- If you have singing friends whose voices would blend well with ours, please ask them to consider joining AD HOC!
Louise will be auditioning potential new members during the summer.

- Wednesday, May 11, 2005
- For the Water Music Party (Saturday May 28), Michael and Suzanne would like volunteers to bring appetizers and desserts.
(Appetizers should preferably be portable and sea worthy, so we can enjoy them in the boat.)
We had a sign-up at rehearsal tonight, but if you missed it and you'd like to contribute send him email.

- Wednesday, May 4, 2005
- We will not have a spring concert this year.
We've been short-handed at recent rehearsals, particularly on the upper parts, because of various members' family and work obligations.
We don't have enough voices to present the music we've been working on.
Louise will advertise for and audition potential new members during the summer.
- Our next concert will be in October or perhaps early November.
To that end we will keep rehearsing into June.
(Louise will be away June 8th.)
- Wednesday, April 27, 2005
- New Music: Thomas Tallis - The Lamentations of Jeremiah (complete -- we've done the first part before.)
- Our spring concert may be a retirement-home performance on a Wednesday night, leaving for the fall a major concert of the music we're working on now.
The most likely date is June 15th. Louise will be away June 8th.
Other possible dates are the 22nd and 29th, but as with weekends, the later we go into June, the more people will be away.
- Wednesday, April 20, 2005
- Our spring concert will probably be the 2nd weekend of June, the 11th/12th.
Louise is unavailable the first weekend of June, and later in the month more and more people have conflicting plans.
Please check your calendars for conflicts.
- Wednesday, April 13, 2005

Part Corrections:
- Hans Leo Hassler - Ihr Musici, Frish auf!:
All parts, page 10, measure 49 to end: Dann should be Denn wer nicht singt....
- William Byrd - Miserere mei, Deus:
Tenor, page 5, measure 18: keep D♮ (natural matches other parts and the piano reduction).
- Thomas Weelkes - O Lord, arise:
Tenor, page 6, measure 54: change last E to E♭.
Alto I, pages 3-4, measures 22-23: the line goes from B♮ to E♭; Louise and Brent looked at this a long time and could not come up with
anything to improve it. C - B♮ - C would echo the Soprano I line of measure 21; the 2nd C happens in the Tenor part. From a chordal view, both
the B♮ and the E♭ seem appropriate, even necessary. Our attempts to improve the Alto I line yet preserve the chords produce worse lines.
- Orlando di Lasso - Fertur in conviviis:
Tenor, page 7, measure 106: last note quarter-note A♭ (not B♭, "-tes").
- Hans Leo Hassler - motet Dixit Maria:
Tenor, page 11, measure 56: G quarter note, F quarter note, C half note ("ver-bum tu-"), to repeat same as measures 34-35.
- Hans Leo Hassler - Missa super Dixit Maria Credo:
Soprano, page 32, measure 121: change half-note C to B ("-cam").
- Hans Leo Hassler - Missa super Dixit Maria Agnus Dei:
Soprano, page 43, measure 13: remove the comma (",").
