The AD HOC Singers

Founded in 1975, the Ad Hoc Singers was an amateur chamber chorus devoted to traditional choral literature
from the 15th through the 20th centuries, with some emphasis on Renaissance masses and motets.
We performed at churches and other locations throughout the area.
We rehearsed Wednesday evenings from September through May in Arlington, VA.
The group has been inactive since 2014, but we maintain this presence on the web.

Greetings, fellow former Ad Hoc Singers! I'm digging into my archive paper rosters for your emails because I wanted to share the news that Louise passed away last week. I just found out from someone who was singing with her at Arlington Church of the Brethren.

I believe they will be planning a service for her in the new year at Walker Chapel United Methodist where she was most recently serving as their accompanist. They may be gathering some of her former choirs to sing. I haven't heard any details, but if anyone is interested in participating, I can try to get people connected.

Please spread the word. I'm crossing my fingers that these emails still work...!

Hope everyone's holidays are going well. I miss singing with you all.

Good morning all,
I meant to send this yesterday. Sorry for the delay.

I got this note from Dawn Kiser, choir director at Walker Chapel UMC:
The service for Louise Lee is set for January 27 at Walker Chapel -- 11 am with lunch reception following.
I definitely want to have a combined choir - O Love That Will not Let Me Go. No further information yet - but I wanted to let you know.

— From Dawn Kyser, Friday, 2024/Jan/19 13:40 —

• The funeral service is at 11 am at Walker Chapel UMC
• Choir call is 10:15 am in the Walker Chapel Sanctuary
• Walker Chapel is at 4102 North Glebe Road in Arlington, VA 22207 - on Glebe Road not far from Chain Bridge.
• The church has a generous parking lot. And has an entrance accessible (elevator) to the sanctuary.
• I will have music, order of worship and black folder for you.
• No robes - simply wear clothes suitable for church/funeral.
• A reception follows the service in the church social hall. You are warmly invited to stay for a bite of lunch, and an opportunity to visit with friends and family.
