Part One
Diffusa est Gratia Giovanni Maria Nanino, 1545-1607
Full of grace are thy lips, because God hath blessed the for ever.
All thy garments smell of myrrh, aloes, and cassia out of ivory palaces,
whereby they have made thee glad.
King's daughters are among thy honourable women.
Sicut Cervus/Sitivit Anima Mea Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, 1525-1594
Just as the hart desires to find a wellspring so that he may quech his thirst,
so my soul also longs for Thee, O Lord, who art our God.

My sprit thirsts the long day through for living streams of God's love:
when shall I see Him in all glory, the true source of our knowledge?
For in the daytime and the night season my tears have been my portion,
while those who hate me say unceasingly: "Where is the God of whom you spoke?"
Ricercada Prima & Ricercada Segonda Diego Ortiz

Douglas Wolters, Viola da Gamba & Louise Lee, Organ
O Primavera gioventù de l'anno Heinrich Schütz
O spring, dawning of the year, beautiful mother of flowers, of newly springing green, of fresh love.
You are again before me, yet the feelings of ecstasy I once knew do not return.
To my heart comes the memory of pain and sorrow, of dear lost treasure.
I am no longer what I was.

Part Two
Mass for Four Voices William Byrd, (1543-1623)
Kyrie Lord, have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy.
Gloria Glory to God on high and peace, good will toward men.
We praise You, we glorify You, we give thanks to You for Your great glory.
Lord God, heavenly King,
God, Father Omnipotent, and for Jesus Christ, Your only begotten Son...
Credo I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.
On the third day He rose again and sitteth on the right had of God the Father Almighty.
I believe in the holy Catholic church and the communion of saints,
the foregiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen
Sanctus Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Hosts, heaven and the earth are full of Thy glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Benedictus Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
Agnus Dei O Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us.
O Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, grant unto us peace.
Divisions on a Ground Simpson, 1605-1625
Douglas Wolters, Viola da Gamba
Magnificat and Nunc Dimitis Orlando Gibbons, 1583-1625

My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit rejoiceth in God, my Saviour.
For He hath regarded the lowliness of His handmaiden
For behold, from henceforth, all generations shall call me blessed.
For He that is mighty hath magnified me; and Holy is His Name.
And His mercy is on them that fear Him throughout all generations.
He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in imagination of their hearts.
He hath put down the mighty from their seat, and hath exhalted the humble and meek.
he hath filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He hath sent empty away.
He rememb'ring His mercy hath holpen His servant Israel, as He promised to our forefathers, Abraham and his seed forever.
Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, and is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen

Lord, now lettest Thou Thy servant depart in peace, according to Thy word.
For mine eyes have seen Thy salvation, which Thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
to be a light to lighten the Gentiles, and to be the glory of Thy people Israel.
Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, and is now, and evermore shall be world without end. Amen
